ISR LEADERS PARTICIPATE IN OCEANS '06 CONFERENCE

Officials of the International Submarine Race organization and the Foundation for Underwater Research and Education will make a second annual appearance and presentation at the Marine Technology Society-IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society Oceans '06 Conference in Boston, MA, September 18-21.

ISR Chairman Claude Brancart and Executive Director Nancy Hussey will present the "Education Benefits of the ISR". The ISR team also presented at Oceans '05.

Pictured in the accompanying photos from Oceans '05 are Christopher Land, teacher from Sussex County Technical High School, New Jersey, and Umptysquatch I, the team's submarine. Also pictured is their display, where information on the ISR is made available to conference attendees. Their new sub, Umptysquatch II will be on display at Oceans '06, with team leader and advisor Land in attendance also. This submarine won the 2005 Best Use of Composites award at ISR 8.

Persons interested in human powered submarine racing are invited to stop at the ISR exhibit booth, where Mr. Land and Mrs. Hussey will be able to explain the opportunities and rewards of ISR participation.
